The otterhound has a double layered coat. They also have webbed feet so they can hunt on land and water. Sometimes hunt on ice. Otterhounds were used when the English mens water got crowded with otters and began to eat their fish. Otterhounds came in to the U.S around the 1900s. The otterhound has a rough coat. Otterhounds also hunt animals called portupotumus's. They are well built with a naturally stripped coat. They have no tails. They are still around even after the U.S banned the hunting of otters. Otterhounds have no set colors on there breed. Males should be around 115 pounds. Males give birth to young. Females should be around 80 pounds. Englishmen use otterhounds to get balls from a lake.
